What is Uniondale PTA COUNCIL? Uniondale PTA Council is the umbrella organization for all the PTAs in Uniondale. There are eight schools’ PTAs (CAS PTA; GAS PTA; NPS PTA; SSS PTA; WSS PTA; LRMS PTA; THMS PTA; UHS PTSA), as well as the Special Education PTA (SEPTA) which comprises students from all schools. The officers of the association are officers from all the schools’ PTA units. Council members comprise council delegates from all the units, as well as the Teacher’s Union President, Principals, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Superintendent of Schools and the President of the Board of Education. The Council meets in the Little Theater of the High School every other month beginning in September and has committees that meet more frequently. Some of the standing committees of Council are: the Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) which assists with compiling the school district budget; the Curriculum Committee which addresses district wide curriculum concerns and the Legislative Committee which is the advocacy group that interacts with our elected officials. You are welcome to attend any of the above meetings; the dates and times are listed in the school district calendar.

Welcome to the Uniondale School District. Whether you are a kindergarten parent with your first child coming into the public school educational system, or a veteran parent with an incoming 12th grader, the needs of your student are still the same they need you to maintain an active involvement in their school and education if they are to succeed. We in the PTA are here to help you to ensure your student’s success We are here to give you answers from a parental perspective and to help you become an equal partner in your child’s education. In order for us to initiate contact with you please complete the attached membership form with the required payment and return it to the Main Office of your child’s school. The President of the PTA from that school will then contact you. In closing I cannot stress too much the absolute necessity of your presence in your child’s school. He/she cannot make it without you. Algunas de las comisiones permanents del Consejo son: el Comite del Presupuesto de asesoramiento (BAC) que ayuda a compikar el presupuesto del distrito escolar; el comite curricular que atienda las preocupaciones in todo el distrito curriculo y el comite legislaltivo que is el grupo de defense que interactua con nuestros funcionarios electos.
