Cooper Elementary students will join more than four million others across the state in celebrating Texas Public Schools Week on March 4-8. This year's theme is, "Education...It’s bigger here!" W e w ill spotlight a host o f educational opportunities available to students attending Cooper ISD. As part of Texas Public Schools Week, parents and community members are invited to visit classrooms and observe the positive activities and programs occurring at Cooper Elementary on Thursday, March 7 from 5:30-7:00 pm. Highlights of activities planned at Cooper Elementary are: AVID Presentation from 5:30-6:00 pm in the cafeteria; artifact viewings in the hallway; and tours of your child’s classrooms. You will receive more information regarding Open House as the week progresses. Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us at CES and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday, March 7th from 5:30-7:00 pm.

The last day for the book fair will be Thursday, March 7th so if you haven’t made it to the library you’ve got plenty of time. Parents can even check it out during Open House Night!

Some students in 2nd-5th grades recently participated in the Kids Heart Challenge, (formerly Jump Rope for Heart), sponsored by the American Heart Association. Students that raised $20 or more, were treated to a special party where they jumped rope, played basketball, received awards and gifts and ate popcorn! The students raised $1,673 altogether and the top money collector was Alexis C. from 2nd grade with a total of $200. Way to Go Lexi! Thank you to all our participants and those that donated money to this great cause!

On March 15th the 5th grade students will be putting on an Extravaganza! There will be several acts including tinikling, singing, instruments, movement, and maybe a surprise act as well. The show will begin at 1:30 in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there! Join PTO to raise money for our school by selling chocolates and/or donating an item for the Spring Carnival silent auction baskets. Forms to sell chocolate are available in the office. Familias del CES, Los alumnos de la Primaria Cooper se unirán a más que otros cuatro millones en todo el estado en Celebrando la Semana de las Escuelas Públicas de Texas del 4 al 8 de marzo. Estos años El tema es "La educación ... es más grande aquí". Destacaremos una gran cantidad de oportunidades educativas disponibles para los estudiantes que asisten a Cooper ISD. Como parte de la Semana de las Escuelas Públicas de Texas, los padres y los miembros de la comunidad están invitados a visitar los salones de clase y observar las actividades y programas positivos que tienen lugar en la Primaria Cooper el jueves 7 de marzo de 5: 30-7: 00 pm. Los aspectos más destacados de las actividades planeadas en Cooper Elementary son: Presentación de AVID de 5: 30-6: 00 pm en la cafetería; visionados de artefactos en el pasillo; y visitas a las aulas de su hijo. Algunos estudiantes de 2º a 5º grado participaron recientemente en el Kids Heart Challenge, (anteriormente Jump Rope for Heart), patrocinado por la American Heart Association. Los estudiantes que recaudaron $ 20 o más, fueron invitados a una fiesta especial en la que saltaron a la cuerda, jugaron baloncesto, recibieron premios y regalos y comieron palomitas de maíz. Los estudiantes recaudaron $ 1,673 en total y el mejor recolector de dinero fue Alexis C. de 2º grado con un total de $ 200. ¡Camino a ir Lexi! ¡Gracias a todos nuestros participantes y a los que donaron dinero para esta gran causa!

¡El 15 de marzo los estudiantes de 5º grado estarán organizando una extravagancia! Habrá varios actos, incluyendo tinikling, canto, instrumentos, movimiento, y tal vez también un acto sorpresa. El espectáculo comenzará a la 1:30 en la cafetería. ¡Espero verte allí!
