Friends of the Library

After careful consideration by Wauconda Area Library administrators and staff, Kid City, has been designated a food-free zone. The safety of our youngest patrons was the determining factor behind the policy, particularly regarding children who suffer from food allergies. Covered drinks, such as bottles and sippy cups, will be permitted. Families with children are welcome to purchase snack food from the vending machines located on the library’s main level. All food must be eaten at the café tables located near the machines. Patrons are not permitted to bring food from home or fast food into the library. Please be aware, food may occasionally be served at select library events, such as cooking programs, and will be contained to library meeting rooms in such instances. We appreciate your help in making Kid City an enjoyable experience for everyone.
