P ASTOR ` S L ETTER ASCENSION OF THE LORD, MAY 13 The Ascension of the Lord is a theological truth telling about the coming back of Jesus, as the Son of God, to heaven, it means to the place where He really came from. The Acts of Apostles describe it in a very short way. According to it, the event of the Ascension of Jesus appears in a form of a way to say good bye to them. He quickly gives them instructions on what to do when He will be away. They need to be responsible for proclaiming to the world the Gospel, about the Christ as the Messiah who on the cross gained for all humankind a new life in God. And they have to wait in Jerusalem for a sign from heaven in the form of sending (to be baptized in) the Holy Spirit, the Spirit who instructed them what to do giving them the power from above. This way they will become the effective witnesses of the resurrection of their Master spreading this news “in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”. Mark the Evangelist’s states the task the apostles received on the day of the ascension, of his Master formulated in the form of command to “go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Thanks to it “whoever believes and is baptized will be saved”. Whoever does not believe deprives himself of his chance of salvation in Jesus. The following signs will accompany to those who believed: In the name of Jesus “they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. They will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover”. The apostles did their task very well because of their work and martyrdom the Gospel about Jesus has reached us testifying about the power of the Holy Spirit whom they were waiting for after the Ascension of Jesus.

Przed odejściem Jezus dał apostołom wskazówki odnośnie ich posłannictwa głoszenia Ewangelii całemu światu, ufając w pomoc z nieba, jaka wkrótce na nich przyjdzie w postaci zesłania Ducha Świętego. Jak widzimy, apstołowie odrobili dobrze swe zadanie, bo Ewangelia Chrystusa dotarła aż do nas. Teraz można powiedzieć nasza kolej, by przekazywać ewangelię dalej, następnym pokoleniom.

Antes de su salida Jesús ha dado a sus discípulos las instrucciones sobre su apostolado de proclamar el evangelio a todo el mundo, confiando en la ayuda del cielo, qua ha sido el Espiritu Santo que iba a venir muy pronto. Como vemos, los apóstoles han cumplido su misión perfectamente porque el Evangelio sobre Jesús ha llegado hasta nosotros. Ahora podemos decir, nos toca a nostotros a evangelizar.

MAY CROWNING - SUNDAY, MAY 13 May is the Month of Mary! St. William Parish will crown Our Blessed Mother in song and prayer and procession around the church on Sunday, May 13 immediately following the 12:00 mass. Catholics have long honored the Blessed Mother by placing a crown on her image. Crowning a statue of the Lord's Mother is symbolic of the honor we give her as the one chosen by God to bear His Son, for our Salvation. Please join us to celebrate this beautiful tradition. GARDEN CLUB NEWS Spring is Here! The four corners of our parish have lovely flower beds due to the care and nutruing of Grace, Maria, Diane and Caterina. We Welcome new members to the club to help with the many tasks of weeding, planting and caring. Please consider joining us after daily mass on any good weather days, with exception to Sundays. W niedzielę 20 maja będziemy obchodzili 30-lecie święceń kapłańskich Księdza Proboszcza Ryszarda Gronia. Serdecznie zapraszamy całą społeczność parafii św. Williama na wspólną celebrację tego wydarzenia. Główna Msza św. jubileuszowa odbędzie się o godz. 12 w południe. Eucharystii będzie przewodniczył Jego Ekscelencja ks. bp John Manz. Tego dnia odwołane zostają Msze św. o godz. 2 pm (po polsku) i o godz.3:30 pm (po hiszpańsku), gdyż pragniemy, aby w uroczystej Mszy św. jubileuszowej Księdza Proboszcza uczestniczyły wszystkie grupy kulturowe i etniczne naszej parafii (włosko-amerykańska, polska i hiszpańska). Po Mszy św. o godz. 12 zapraszamy wszystkich na poczęstunek do Liebrich Hall w budynku szkolnym, gdzie będzie okazja, by zrobić sobie indywidualne zdjęcie z jubilatem. Podczas spotkania odbędzie się losowanie nagród loterii parafialnej. Przypominamy, że do wygrania jest 6 nagród pieniężnych. Serdecznie zapraszamy wszystkich parafian i przyjaciół.

Sunday May 20, we will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the ordination of our pastor, Fr. Ryszard Gron. On this occasion, we come together as a whole, the parish of St. William, to give thanks to God for all His gifts and to Fr. Ryszard for answering Jesus' call to the priesthood. The celebration of the mass will be at 12 pm, presided by the Most Rev. Bishop John Manz. That day there will be no 2 PM Polish mass and no 3:30 PM Spanish mass. We encourage all the cultural groups and parishioners of our parish to attend the 12 noon mass. Following the Mass there will be a reception with refreshments, picture taking and the drawing of the parish lottery/raffle as well in Liebrich Hall. Please join us that day!

Using the occasion of the anniversary of 30 years of priesthood of our Pastor, Fr. Ryszard Gron, we organize the selling of raffle tickets for fundraising to our Parish (renovation of 2 rooms: bridegroom in the Church). 1 ticket costs $5. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION takes place in our parish every Thursday, beginning after the 8:15am Mass till 5:00pm. At 3:00pm Chaplet of Divine Mercy in Polish language and 4:00pm in English followed by Benediction at about 4:45pm. 6

SWS 6TH GRADE Students not only in 6th grade are excited because all students have something to cheer about. SWS has implemented a 1:1 Chromebook program for grade 5th8th. But wait, that's not all! With our 1:1 Chromebooks, two new charging carts were purchased through Title III funding, which also paid for the Chromebooks. Next, due to a generous and extremely supportive SWS family, SWS students also have access to MobyMax.com for another year and fun new apps for the iPads--THANK YOU! Finally, because of the Wetzel family and their continueous support of SWS, the students have new wireless mice to use with the Chromebooks along with a newly upgraded WiFi for SWS.
