Outreach Lecturing Fund Fulbright Visiting Scholar Cristina Banfi from Argentina will be presenting the following lecture: Language Teaching: Experiences from Latin America February 25, 2019 11-11:50am California State University, Monterey Bay Building 49, Room 118 Dr. Cristina Banfi, Director of Foreign Language Education at the Ministry of Education in Buenos Aires, is a linguist and educator who has taught English as a foreign language at primary and secondary levels and is currently a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at UC Davis. She teaches Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at different institutions in Argentina, including the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She holds an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. from University College London, both in Linguistics, and a Posgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Policy from UBA. Her most recent books are El Aprendizaje de Idiomas: Cómo Habla la Mente and Exorcising Grammar (co-edited). To reserve a seat please contact Rebecca Pozzi ([email protected]). OLF enables Visiting Scholars to share their research interests, speak about their home country, and exchange ideas with U.S. students, faculty, and community organizations. Through these lectures, universities forge relationships with the Fulbright Scholar Program, Visiting Scholars, and the Visiting Scholar’s home and host institutions.
