WE ARE ONE - LOVE HUMILITY DIGNITY UPCOMING 2019 PASTORAL SERVICES APPEAL ABOUT THE PSA - KICK OFF DATE FEBRUARY 24TH, 2019

The Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA) is an annual 12-month campaign that runs each year conducted by the Orange Catholic Foundation (OCF) on behalf of the Diocese of Orange. The PSA funds selected vital ministries and services that benefit all 62 parishes and centers and the wider community in the Diocese of Orange. The programs and services designated as Bishop Vann’s priorities provide training, formation, education, and outreach that REINFORCES the mission of each individual parish and reaches out to those in the wider community. The OCF grants the funds received three times a year to the designated ministries and services supported through the PSA. Each parish conducts their own PSA campaign and has an assigned fair share goal. The PSA is based on policies that were updated in 2015 by a PSA Task Force of pastors and sent to all pastors and administrators by Bishop Vann in September 2015. The PSA Policies can be found on the Orange Catholic Foundation website under PSA/Parish Resources. The PSA provides an opportunity for parishes to earn significant capital funds to support important parish projects after their goal in payments is reached each year. 100% of all funds received over the parish’s assigned goal are returned to the parish as a monthly rebate, while all campaign marketing, processing and pledge redemption costs are covered for every parish and center by the OCF. Accountability: Honoring the intent of the donor, the Orange Catholic Foundation insures that all gifts given are used ONLY for those programs and services recommended for support by a committee consisting of clergy and lay leaders and approved by Bishop Vann.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE Cuando era niño a mis primos mexicanos les gustaba contarme cuentos de la Llorona, la mano negra, bultos que flotaban en los cementerios, y lucecitas azules que aparecían sobre tesoro escondido por bandidos de siglos pasados. Estos cuentos también se escuchaban en el Valle del Río Grande de Texas, donde me crié. Confieso que me fascinaban y asustaban esas misteriosas leyendas, así como los relatos de santas y santos que levitan, tienen visiones, escuchan voces celestiales o chorrean sangre de llagas que recuerdan las llagas de Cristo en la cruz. He escuchado el llanto de la Llorona, y me parece haber visto la mano negra. Sé que mi carro se movió solo en un lugar donde murieron unos niños sobre un autobús escolar. Los latinos sabemos que hay muchas cosas que no se pueden explicar, simplemente se vive con el misterio. Y ¿a quien no le atrae un buen misterio? El sentido del misterio nos atrae y nos intimida en el misticismo de los santos cristianos. SOMOS UNO – 2019 CAMPAÑA PARA LOS SERVICIOS PASTORALES SOBRE EL PEDIDO DE SERVICIOS PASTORALES (PSA) FECHA DE INICIO 24 DE FEBRERO 2019 La Campaña para los Servicios Pastorales (PSA por sus siglas en ingles) es una campaña anual de 12 meses, llevada a cabo por la Fundación Católica de Orange (OCF por sus siglas en inglés) en nombre de la Diócesis de Orange.
