Dear JPIIA Community, I write to you today to ask for prayers. In our Siena community, our St Joe family is struggling. Last week, we learned that Talia, the 3 year old daughter of Principal Hernandez, has Stage 3 kidney cancer. Lots and lots of prayers are needed for Talia for her long recovery. We are joining with the other Siena Schools to sponsor a dress down day to raise money to offset medical costs for the Hernandez family.
Please consider sending $2 or MORE with your child next Friday, April 5th to support Talia. Students should wear some orange (or gold/yellow) as orange represents Kidney Cancer Awareness.
Almsgiving Update: Keep on collecting your coins and sending them in on Monday in the white boxes. We have currently raised: $407.30. Lenten Blessings, Mrs. Schumacher

Reminders from our Handbook: Classroom Treats Parents wishing to send a classroom treat to school for a birthday or special event should send something healthy and easy to serve. Please send enough treats for the entire class and be mindful of food allergies. Classroom treats are served at the discretion of the classroom teacher. Balloons, flowers and other birthday paraphernalia are not permitted as they disrupt the learning environment. Birthday celebrations in school are limited to a healthy treat, no family members are allowed to come. Birthday invites may only be passed out at school if they are for all the boys or all the girls or the entire class. We have very hurt feelings when this is not followed. Warm Weather
April 1st is when navy blue or khaki shorts or capris can be worn. Please take a look at uniforms, some are looking very worn. Please remember this policy:
Students are expected to wear neat, untorn and clean clothes. Shirts are to be tucked in at all times. Clothes must fit appropriately, not being too large or too small.

Batter Up! Carnival Countdown: 42 days! May 3rd is only 42 days away and we’ve got a lot to do! Our next Drop and Dash will be on Friday, March 29 and we'll have a Carnival Planning Meeting on Friday, April 5. Drop and Dash is during morning drop off and the Carnival Meeting will be at 7:30am in the school lobby. Please join us. In the meantime, we are still in need of items for our raffle baskets and silent auction items. If you have something, please send it in. It does not have to be an entire basket of items, we’ll take the donations and put them together. The carnival will also feature a gift card pull, so we are looking for gift cards in the amount of $10 or more. There is still time to send in your $4 donation for the classroom prizes as well. All your support is greatly appreciated!
