2019 Fall Season 6U thru 14U Welcome to the start of the 2019 soccer season. This page is your pre-season source for information pertaining to the upcoming season. More information and details are available on our website at www.aysosm.org. Important Dates: OPENING DAY SATURDAY SEPT.7TH; PICTURE DAY SUNDAY SEPT. 8TH The season may run thru the weekend of November 17 due to weather and tournaments. Volunteers: Our league has over 1,800 kids playing soccer in San Mateo. We are always in need of more volunteers. We need volunteers to Coach, Assistant Coach, Referee, Board Members and Division Coordinators. Please help us by offering your help. Giving as little as an hour per week during the season will help ensure the continued success of the program. Practices: Soccer is the ultimate team sport. All divisions will hold practices. Practice is where the players learn how to play the game, get to know their teammates and coaches, and develop a camaraderie that is necessary for a successful season. Typically, 6U and 8U practice once a week and 10U, 12U, 14U will practice twice a week. Practice times and places are determined by the Coach. Every attempt should be made to get players to practice. Parent Participation: Most coaches encourage parents to participate with the team by attending practices (especially in the younger divisions) and cheering on the team in a positive manner at games. Coaching at games by parents or spectators is discouraged as there can only be one coach on each team. If you feel the need to “coach” your child, please feel free to sign up next year to be trained to be a SM AYSO coach. All parents will be asked to supply a snack for at least one game during the season, help make a team banner for their team, help communication between parents on the team and help organize an end of the year party. The more administrative help a coach can get, the more time they will have to coach your kids. Each team should have one designated Team Parent. Expenses: Your registration fee includes a uniform (shorts, shirt, socks), a basic picture package from picture day (5X7 player, 5X7 team, button) and a yearbook. Additional expenses that you will incur include shin guards (mandatory), soccer cleats (not mandatory, but recommended), a ball (not mandatory), your snack for a game and a contribution to pay for the end of the season party, gifts and banner. Your registration fee includes all National AYSO dues and supplementary insurance. Notification: Teams will be distributed to the coaches the week of August 12th. You should be contacted by your child’s coach sometime between August 12th and August 23rd. DO NOT CONTACT ANYONE PRIOR TO August 23rd. If you have not heard from a coach by August 23rd, please contact the appropriate coordinator via our website: www.aysosm.org.

2019 Fall Season 6U thru 14U
