Holy Day of Obligation- Solemnity of All Saints Wednesday, November 1st The Church celebrates All Saints Day honoring those who have been canonized or beatified, and the multitude of those who are in heaven enjoying the beatific vision that are only known to God. All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation which means all Catholics are obliged to attend Mass. SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA PATIO UPDATES Great news! On November 8th, all bids are due and by November 13th it will finalize the last steps to select a contractor. Our ground breaking ceremony will be on Sunday, November 19th at 4:30pm. God willing, if everything goes well, the construction will start by the end of November. We appreciate all generous donations for the building fund. Please keep praying for this project as we finalize the construction process.

NATIONAL NEEDS SPECIAL COLLECTION November 4th and November 5th Next weekend, we will be having a special collection for all national needs. This combines the collections for Catholic Campaign for Human Development, the Catholic Communication Campaign, and the Catholic University of America. PRAYER CANDLES Each day, visitors stop in to Santiago de Compostela to light a candle as an act of prayer. Lighting candles has long been a sacred ritual in all traditions, creating precious moments in our lives in which we pray for loved ones, friends, and ask for or give support. If you wish to light a candle (lasts up to 12 hours) in memory of a loved one, to honor a special occasion, or a special intention the suggested donation of candle is $3.00 which can be placed in the designated container by the altar.

Pageant of the Nativity—Friday, December 1st The 3rd Annual Noel Night kicks off Advent with our best program yet. This year we tell the story of the Nativity by featuring the main characters in song. We are currently looking for a few key volunteer positions. Writers' Ministry Workshop Are you a Poet? Do you enjoy writing? If you would like to join a few other “would-be” scribes, this is your chance. With our focus on putting into verse our inner poetry and prayers, our group will meet on the first Thursday (November 2nd) each month at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall. The only requirements are that you enjoy writing, especially in verse (beginners are welcome), you are willing to share your work and you welcome charitable feedback. OPERATION CHRISTMAS SPIRIT Office of Restorative Justice/Detention Ministry The Diocesan Office of Restorative Justice / Detention Ministry, is in need of “forever” postage stamps for our annual “Operation Christmas Spirit”. El próximo jueves 2 de noviembre, comenzando a las 6:45 pm, estaremos aprendiendo sobre los dos últimos misterios gloriosos: • La Asunción. La doctrina de la asunción de María al cielo es también conocida como la dormición. Solo se puede entender desde la perspectiva de la doctrina de la inmaculada concepción. • La coronación de la Santísima virgen María. La exaltación y coronación de María se basa en la doctrina de la inmaculada concepción y la asunción. Ella fue libre de pecado y asunta en cuerpo y alma al cielo. Las clases son en el Salón Parroquial. PLAN ESPIRITUAL PARA BUSCAR LA SANTIDAD EN EL MATRIMONIO Unos meses atrás les compartía en una de mis homilías cuáles eran mis sugerencias para tener un matrimonio sano y santo. Me he encontrado con personas que quisieran tener el plan para seguirlo, así que esta semana comparto nuevamente este sencillo plan: 1. Oración personal diaria, 15 minutos mínimo. Para esto debo disponer de un lugar apropiado y una hora fija en el día. 2. Orar en pareja por lo menos una vez a la semana. Por ejemplo rezar juntos el Rosario, hacer oración para interceder por los hijos, familia, amigos, trabajo, por las necesidades de otros. 3. Leer las escrituras y compartir lo leído. Un solo párrafo diario para empezar es de gran ayuda. 4. Cada mañana antes de separarse para ir al trabajo y a nuestras actividades diarias, recuerden bendecirse uno al otro y antes de dormir también. 5. Buscar un momento en el día para compartir lo que nos pasó a cada uno interiormente, como nos sentimos, que nos afectó y que nos causó alegría. 6. Si es posible, ir juntos a Misa durante la semana y visitar el Santísimo juntos y leer y compartir las lecturas del domingo, antes de venir a Misa. 7. Ir a la confesión por lo menos una vez al mes. 8. Planear una cita, por lo menos una vez al mes, para ir al cine, a la playa, a comer, a caminar, a un parque… 9. Cada noche antes de dormir, hacer un examen de conciencia y revisar donde hemos visto o sentido la presencia de Cristo durante el día. 10. ACTUALIZACIONES DEL PATIO PARROQUIAL ¡Una gran noticia! Nuestros planes de construcción del patio están avanzando. El 8 de noviembre, todas las ofertas vencen y el 13 de noviembre finalizará los últimos pasos para seleccionar un contratista. Nuestra ceremonia de inauguración será el domingo, 19 de noviembre a las 4:30pm. Si Dios quiere, si todo va bien, la construcción comenzará a fines de noviembre. Agradecemos todas las generosas donaciones para el fondo de construcción. Por favor sigan orando por este proyecto mientras finalizamos el proceso deconstrucción.
