SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA PATIO UPDATES

St. Vincent de Paul Special Collection MAY 21, 2017 October 29th and October 30th On October 29th and 30th we are having a special collection for Santiago’s St. Vincent de Paul ministry. 100% of your generous donations help our parishioners and their families in financial need, within the church’s boundaries. Thank you for your generous support in the past. We cannot operate without you.

ALL SOULS DAY ENVELOPES The month of November is the Month of All Souls. If you wish to remember your faithfully departed at Daily Mass, use the envelope in the pews for this purpose as a gift to honor those who have enriched our lives. We ask you to PRINT the name(s) of your loved ones on the envelope and include your generous donation. You may either place it in the offertory basket or drop off in the Parish Office.

PRAYER CANDLES Each day, visitors stop in to Santiago de Compostela to light a candle as an act of prayer. Lighting candles has long been a sacred ritual in all traditions, creating precious moments in our lives in which we pray for loved ones, friends, and ask for or give support. If you wish to light a candle (lasts up to 12 hours) in memory of a loved one, to honor a special occasion, or a special intention the suggested donation of candle is $3.00 which can be placed in the designated container by the altar.

Great news! Our patio construction plans are moving forward. On October 24th, there will be a site review meeting with Fr. Thomas, Construction Committee, Diocese Project Manager, and contractors. On November 8th, all bids are due and by November 13th it will finalize the last steps to select a contractor. God willing, if everything goes well, the construction will start by the end of November. We appreciate all generous donations for the building fund. Please keep praying for this project as we finalize the construction process.

Handcrafted Items from the Holy Land October 21st and October 22nd A family from the Holy Land(Bethlehem) will be selling religious handcrafted items made from olive wood. Proceeds from the sale of these items will go towards support of Catholic families in the Holy Land who are experiencing political strife. Due to the violence and discrimination towards Christians in the Holy Land, most of the families have left their country and moved to different parts of the world. There are now less than 1.2 percent of the population left trying to support themselves. Please help support these families by purchasing their goods. CUB SCOUT PACK 629 The cub scouts will be selling popcorn after all masses this weekend, October 21st and 22nd. Your donation directly helps the pack raise funds to help create lifelong memorable experiences like camping, hiking, community events, science, technology and adventure outings to prepare them to be self-reliant and a resourceful leader for the future. Scouting also helps build personal character, courage and values of patriotism. If you are not a popcorn fan we also are raising money to help purchase popcorn for the Armed forces. The pack appreciates your support.

OPERATION SHOE BOX Operation Shoebox will be collecting paper goods for the Isaiah House this weekend, Saturday, October 21st and Sunday, October 22nd. The Isiah House is a women's homeless shelter that also distributes meals to the homeless that congregate near the Civic Center in Santa Ana. They use 1500 plates, napkins, and plastic ware in one week. Their needs are great! We are asking for donations of divided plates with 3-compartments, napkins, plastic ware including forks, spoons and knives, 8 ounce styrofoam cups, 8 ounce paper cups, toilet paper and paper towels. JMJ 22 de octubre del 2017 JMJ

Mi querida familia parroquial, ¡Dios siempre esté con nosotros!

22 October 2017 My Dearest Parish Family,
